Position: Non-Executive Chairman
Mr. Alar Soever is a geologist with over 35 years of experience in the mineral exploration industry, both in Canada and overseas. He was the President of Wallbridge from 2003 to 2011, and prior to that was involved with Wallbridge in a consulting capacity as head of Watts, Griffis, and McOuat's copper-nickel-PGE practice. He has been instrumental in the growth of Wallbridge, including the spin-out of two new companies Duluth Metals Limited and Miocene Metals Limited.
Position: President & CEO and Director
Mr. Kord is a Mining Engineer with over 30 years of experience in the mining industry, spanning a career over which Mr. Kord has held progressively more responsible roles in both operations and management. During the early part of his career with Falconbridge, Mr. Kord was involved in mining operations in both Sudbury and Timmins. Most recently he was Executive Vice President, Global Mining for a large Canadian firm. Mr. Kord's expertise includes managing large multidisciplinary teams of engineers and operators as well as extensive experience in developing business growth plans and in mergers and acquisitions. He is also a Director of Carube Copper Corp.
Position: Lead Director
Mr. W. Warren Holmes is a mining engineer (P. Eng), and holds a MBA. He is a the Chairman and Director of HudBay Minerals Inc, Lead Director of Foraco International SA, and a Director of Atlanta Gold Inc. He was previously with Noranda Inc (1964-1986), and Falconbridge Limited (1986-2002) latterly as Senior Vice President of Canadian Mining Operations. He was the President of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy, and Petroleum, Chairman of the Ontario Mining Association, and Co Chair of the Ontario Mineral Industry Cluster Council.
A former National Hockey League player and a 1989 inductee to the Hockey Hall of Fame, Mr. Sittler is a self-employed businessman and is currently a consultant to the Toronto Maple Leaf Hockey Club in areas of community relations and marketing. He is a Director of Frontline Gold Corporation and also a Director of Margaret Lake Diamonds Inc.
Parviz Farsangi has an extensive operations background and knowledge of the nickel industry, with a history of employee and community engagement. Most recently, he was Chief Executive Officer of Scorpio Mining Corporation. He is a currently the CEO of Canadian Royalties and director of INV Metals Inc. Earlier he was Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of Vale Inco Limited with the responsibility for leading the operations of Vale Inco's wholly-owned subsidiaries. Prior to joining Vale Inco Mr. Farsangi had a long career with Falconbridge Limited. Subsequently he was President, Gramercy Alumina in Louisiana and St. Ann Bauxite in Jamaica for Falconbridge. Mr. Farsangi has received a Ph.D. in Mining Engineering from McGill in 1996 as well as an M.B.A. from Queen's University Business School in 1998. He is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario, the Canadian Institute of Mining & Metallurgy, and the Transition Board of Canadian Mining Innovation Council.
Mr. Day is the General Manager and one of the principals of William Day Construction Limited, a large diversified surface and mining contracting company in Northern Ontario. He has over 40 years of experience in the mine services, forestry and sawmilling sectors of Northern Ontario, and managed Gogama Forest Products Ltd. for William Day Construction Limited from 1989 to 2007.
Ms. Wilkinson is an Executive Consultant with over 25 years of consulting, corporate and operations experience with both large, multi-national corporations and junior start-up businesses. Prior to establishing her consulting practice, Janet was Senior Vice President-HR for Iamgold Corporation (2006-2009) and held progressively responsible positions with Noranda and Falconbridge (1988 - 2006). Janet has worked with more than 70 mining and metals businesses in 30 political jurisdictions in Africa, Europe, Australia, South and North America. She has a Masters of Industrial Relations from the University of Toronto.
Mr. Pesner is the President of Hermitage Canada Finance Inc., which specializes in financial advisory, mergers and acquisitions and divestiture services to a range of corporations. Between 1977 and 2003 he held a number of roles, including partner, senior partner and board member at KPMG in Montreal. He brings extensive audit committee and governance experience as a board member with companies in a variety of industries including, but not limited to, mining (Richmont Mines Inc.), retail (SAQ - Société des alcools du Québec, Le Chateau) and financial (Fonds Régional de Montréal FTQ).
Position: Vice President, Mining and Projects
Mr. Demers is a Mining Engineer with nearly 20 years of experience in the mining industry. He began his career in consulting and quickly moved on to operations. He joined INCO (now Vale) as a labourer and over the course of 14 years, progressed through roles of increasing responsibility in both Engineering and Operations. At the end of his tenure with Vale, Mr. Demers spent 4 years as Mine Manager of Creighton Mine. In 2016, Mr. Demers moved to the General Manager of Sudbury Operations role with KGHM International where he had regional accountability for all aspects of the business.
Mr. Demers is known for his commitment to safe, and responsible operations as well as his leadership and drive for continuous improvement. He has a strategic mindset and a keen ability for building teams and instilling a performance culture that is supported by the systems and processes needed to ensure sustainable business practices.
Position: Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Penny is a Chartered Professional Accountant with over 30 years of experience in financial management, strategic planning and financial reporting.
Formerly, Mr. Penny was the Executive Vice President and CEO of New Gold Inc (TSX:NGD), a multi-national mining company, from 2009 until 2017; the Vice President of Finance and CFO of Kinross Gold Corporation (TSX:K), one of the world's largest gold producers from 1993 until 2004; the CFO of Western Goldfields Inc. from 2006 to 2009; and the CFO of Silver Bear Resources from 2005 to 2009.
Mr. Penny also formerly served as a member of the board of directors of Equinox Minerals Limited from 2004 to 2011 when it was acquired by Barrick Gold Corporation; Alamos Gold Inc. from 2005 to 2008; and Baffinland Iron Mines Limited from 2004 to 2008.
Mr. Penny obtained his Diploma in Business -- Accounting and Finance from Cambrian College and is a CPA, CMA.
Position: Vice-President of Exploration
Dr. Pentek is a Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo., APGO) with over 12 years of national and international experience in the mineral exploration and mining industry as well as economic geology research. He obtained both an M.Sc. and a Ph.D. degree at the Eotvos Lorand University in Budapest, Hungary in collaboration with the Carleton University in Ottawa. Dr. Pentek has been involved with Wallbridge since 2005 and most recently was Senior Geologist responsible for resource geology and review of new opportunities and acted as Project Manager for the Company's Broken Hammer open pit mine. He is currently the President of the Sudbury Prospectors and Developers Association.
Position: Corporate Secretary
Mr. Stokes has close to 30 years of experience in business development, finance, communications and as a Corporate Secretary with a broad range of publicly traded and private companies primarily in the metals and mining sector, including Scandinavian Minerals, Tiberon Minerals, Orvana Minerals, Inter-Citic Minerals, Geomaque Explorations, Victory Nickel and Nuinsco Resources.
